Future Work

We look to consider the following things when expanding the project:

• A more accurate characterization of the motors: Though we did run multiple tests to characterize the motors before we ran the device, characterizing them regularly might be helpful, as changing levels in power may change the behavior.
• A more accurate and robust control: In this project, we implemented a P controller. However, a PD controller give much more accuracy, especially if we switch to encoders with a higher resolution. Last, our controller was not able to handle sharp points (for example, a cursive letter "i").
• A more user-friendly interface: Eventually, we would like to be able to make the interface so simple such that anyone can input a picture and an angle into MATLAB and automatically get back a drawing.
• The ability to draw a cube in a 2D form such that it appears 3D from the user's point of view, similar to this: http://www.pcworld.com/article/224987/glasses_free_3d_comes_to_ipad_2.html#tk.rss_news.
